Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage) Buildano uses, why, and how you can control them. It applies to the Buildano web application, the client portal, the contributor area and our sign-up and legal pages. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. The rules we follow
Storing information on your device, or reading it, requires your prior consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for. This follows article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive), section 99(5) of Cyprus Law 112(I)/2004, and article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006, together with the guidance of the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection and of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Guidelines 1/2020).
In practice this means that:
- strictly necessary cookies are set without asking;
- everything else is set only if you agree, category by category;
- "Reject" is offered on the first screen, with the same prominence and number of clicks as "Accept";
- nothing is pre-ticked, and simply continuing to browse is not consent;
- you can change or withdraw your choice at any time, as easily as you gave it.
2. What we use
We do not use advertising, analytics, social-media or other third-party tracking cookies, and we do not load third-party scripts that track you. Our fonts are served from our own servers.

If you don't allow preference cookies, your language and appearance choices still work while you use the site, but are kept only for the current browser session and forgotten when you close the browser.
Third-party pages
When you pay for a subscription you are taken to a checkout page operated by Stripe (Link), on Stripe's own domain. Stripe sets its own cookies there, which are necessary for payments and fraud prevention and are governed by Stripe's cookie policy. We do not control or receive them.
3. Your choices
- Use the banner when you first visit: Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customise by category.
- Change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of our pages. Withdrawing consent removes the preference cookies and data we had stored.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in.
We ask again after 6 months, or earlier if we change the cookies we use.
